You will find a lot of backpackers vans parked along this free campsite in Brisbane CBD. Keep a low profile and don’t annoy any of the locals and you should be fine camping here.

Is this a legal free campsite? No, it is not. It is a street in the city where the laws apply and you may get moved on or fined if you stay here.

Can you swim in the river? No, I wouldn’t. The Brisbane River looks a little dirty to be swimming in. I have never seen anyone fishing in the river either so that usually means there are no fish.

Also to note there is a fresh fruit and vegetable market on Sundays just up the road. It’s called the West End market and you will find some bargain food for camping there.
