Just outside the town of Numinbah there exists a secluded swimming hole on Couchy Creek. If you are looking for a place to relax off the beaten path then this is it.
I discovered this swimming hole by accident one day as I was heading to Murwillumbah. I saw a No Through Road sign and the Couchy Creek Road sign heading through a narrow cutting so I had to investigate. The swimming hole is in the Couchy Creek Nature Reserve and the drive up the dirt road as it follows the creek is absolutely amazing.
If you are looking for a hike you can follow Couchy Creek Road and the Creek all the way up for a number of kilometers. It is a relaxing walk and you will find some other hidden rock pools that you can enjoy all to yourself.
Directions:
Follow Couchy Creek Road about 1km until you get to a small clearing and carpark.

Couchy Creek borders a Nature Reserve that is home to a number of plant and animal endangered species. Although not strictly part of the reserve, the creek is part of this fragile environment and needs to be treated with great care. Please do nothing to harm it. Do not trample young trees, Take all your litter with you. Leave everything as you found it. Thank you for doing this.
